A first edition, ninth impression copy of Daphne Du Maurier's most famous novel. Rebecca is an exceptional Gothic drama, and a Wuthering Books favourite. It follows a shy young bride who, whisked off her feet by a handsome widower, finds herself trapped on a vast estate haunted by the presence of her new husband's deceased first wife.
In good to very good condition with somewhat marked boards, slight weakening to the front free endpaper, foxed throughout and along the edge. In the scarce original dust jacket which is creased with a couple of closed tears to the front panel, chipped corners, and general handling marks. Bound in black cloth. Protected in a clear removeable plastic sleeve. 20.5 x 13.5 cm. Pp. 446.
