The class textbook of Freida Young Lindberg, a student at Dundee High School during the 1910s. This handwritten notebook contains copied notes and instructions, mostly complete recipes, for cookery classes she took between 1914 and 1915. The book includes a recipe for something called 'Soldier's Cake', a sweet treat which was traditionally packed and shipped to the armed forces serving overseas.
In good condition with the boards a little weak and beginning to crack, the boards and spine are worn with stains and handling marks, the pages a little tanned and foxed. Includes a note sent to Freida and a handwritten index. Bound in purple cloth with a school sticker to the upper front board. 14 x 18 cm. Hand-paginated pp. 69.
