A very rare 1902 miniature edition of Longfellow's Tales of a Wayside Inn, The Golden Legend, and a selection of other poems. Other copies mostly held by libraries in the USA. Longfellow, a celebrated New England fireside poet, was a dedicated educator and the first American to complete a new translation of Dante's Divine Comedy.
In very good condition with clean, square boards, a little foxing to preliminaries and an ink inscription to a forward blank. Bound in half vellum with marbled boards, a morocco spine label with gilt-stamped lettering, a gilt-stamped rose motif to the spine, gilt top edge and marbled endpapers. 11.5 x 8 cm.
