Scarce. Finely bound pocket edition. A stunning collection of novels by the Bronte sisters, accompanied by Mrs Gaskell's famous biography of her friend Charlotte Bronte. Dated between 1888 and 1889, this 7-volume set is complete and rather hard to come by. The Bronte sisters' legacy continues to attract an increasing number of collectors and fans, most recently thanks to Emerald Fennel's adaptation of Wuthering Heights by Emily Bronte. I am pleased to present this wonderful Victorian set for sale in very good condition.

Generally very good with some scratches to the boards (particularly on Wuthering Heights), some wear to surface of endpapers (joints strong) , with slight gap to prelims of WH, pen marks to rear blanks of WH, pulling to the spine ends (light loss to Jane Eyre, barely noticable), foxed preliminaries across the set, general rubbins and shelfwear. Generally clean and firmly bound within.

An attractive edition perfect for any Bronte fan. Half-bound in wine red Morocco leather with marbled boards, marbled endpapers and marbled edges. Spines ornamented with raised bands, gilt detailing and titles. Namely inclusive of Jane Eyre, The Tenant of Wildfell Hall, Wuthering Heights and Agnes Grey (in one volume), The Professor, Shirley, Villette, The Life of Charlotte Bronte. Uniformly 15.5 x 11 cm. Pp. (in above order) x, 464; [iv], 416; viii, 462; x, 432, vi, 543; vi, 496; xii, 488.
