In good to very good condition, externally square, clean and attractive though internally somewhat foxed throughout. A bookplate to the front pastedown notes that the book was awarded to an evening school student in 1900. Slipped inside are some sunday school leaflets from 1933. Bound in a handsome brown pictorial cloth with bright gilt titles and a cathedral motif with black and colour scenery, blindstamped rear board, patterned endpapers and fully gilt edges.
